3.5.1.1. ConnectingtheMotorCable
ConnectthemotorpowercabletotheM1,M2,and M3terminalsofthemainpowerconnector
andthefourthwiretothePE(ProtectiveEarth)ontheheatsink(seediagramabove).
Notesforconnectingthemotorcables:
• Forbestimmunity,itishighlyrecommendedtouseashielded(nottwisted)cableforthe
motorconnection.A4‐wireshieldedcableshouldbeused.Thegaugeisdeterminedbythe
actualcurrentconsumptionofthemotor.
• Connecttheshieldofthecabletotheclosestgroundconnectionatthemotorend.
• ConnecttheshieldofthecabletothePEterminalontheheatsink.
• Besurethatthemotorchassisisproperlygrounded.
• Toclosethemotorcableintothedrive,usethebarrelconnector,M6springwasherand
M6nut(inthedrive).Therequiredtorqueis3to4Nm.
• ToclosethePEwireintothedrive,usethebarrelconnector,M5flatwasher,M5spring
washerandM5screwtotheheatsink.Therequiredtorqueis3to4Nm.
• Useflexwire6/8/10AWGtobarrelconnector.

ThePowerstageoftheCymbalisfullyisolatedfromothersectionsoftheCymbal,suchasthe
controlstageandtheheatsink.ThiscontributesverysignificantlytothesafetyandtheEMI
immunityoftheCymbal.InadditionitsimplifiestherequirementsoftheDCpowersupplyused
topowertheDCbusoftheCymbalandallowsalsotheoperationwithanon‐isolatedDCpower
source.

ThePE(ProtectiveGroundoftheACnetwork)isconnectedtotheVN‐terminal(theNegative
PowerInputterminal).
